i was dying when i found that article, like duh there's claptrap fanfiction and duh that there's obviously nsfw claptrap fanfiction this is the internet

ngl tho, kinda sad that it didn't feature some of the more out-there fics like the one where android!claptrap fucked rhys-ball

They didn't like contact the authors of the fics in the article, so the only reason I found out was because someone linked it on the fanfiction subreddit a while after it was posted. I HAD been a little confused at a swath of kudos I got on it, given The Girlfriend is a ClapDOS fic and that's the bottom of the GLaDOS ships totem pole, but when people are suddenly leaving kudos on one of your fics you just kind of have to assume you got recced somewhere and hope to come across it later.

I mean, Claptrap is a pretty contentious figure because of his voice alone so I don't really blame anybody not in the know for thinking somebody wanting to write about him having sex is weird? Let's be honest, as far as canon Claptrap goes if someone actually agreed to do it he'd probably nut right then and there

I don't think the writer was totally familiar with fanfiction, either, because they say that they think The Girlfriend might not be finished. It wasn't, but they didn't know enough about AO3 to be able to tell whether a fic was complete or not. The last time I looked there wasn't a LOT of fanfic that actually featured Claptrap, as opposed to having him as a side character, so I don't blame the writer for just picking some at random and reading those.
